But then if you read up on heracles he had a sword and yet he preferred to use a cudgel most of the time. I am not aware of any time he owned an axe in the Emphidian mythology. Is it possible that this was some native Krarthian character? Probably just a mash-up of various bits of Greek myth - for example although the cliche is of Hercules with club and lionskin, his father, Zeus, is occasionally depicted carrying a spear and an unusual double headed axe. Of course, it could just be that a magical returning axe that evokes the warrior from the videogame Gauntlet or the superhero Thor is way cooler than an enchanted returning stick that only makes playful dogs sad.

I can see so many unexplored parts of the Battlepits being reused. Old book 6 depicted some of the marvellous things that can happen, strange scenes and encounters if I recall correctly. Sounds like ripe material for some fan made stuff. Surely a player can make up a few of his own 'Magi', banners, inbredness, as well as trapped demon encounters and scenes. Maybe we can even do a competition on 'battlepit' rooms, caverns and whatnot. 5 surviving true Magi, but surely there were many more like Magus Zyn who could trap demons and bind them to eternal service? _________________ And so the show begins!!!

There were no surviving True Magi from the Blasting of Spyte. Only one had a surviving heir - Magus Tor. There is a clear suggestion that only one of the Magi managed to chain a Malgash, but that's not to say that other Magi didn't bind other, lesser demons. After all, there is now a Demonologist class available to play (see Players Handbook). I encountered several names for Magi in the DW and Bloodsword books: Kalugen, Balhazar, Vyl, Venzor, Zyn, Uru, Horg, Laglor, Tor, Byl, Lym. These appear to be "Surname" or "House names"; as Laglor is the current Magus Tor, Aytarn the current Magus Byl, Rakov is Magus Lym and Jani is Fata Uru. There's scope for making up plenty more as needed... Quote: Wonder whether a fan made interpretation of bloodsword stories for the dragwars system would work? Using bits of real-world myth to create a "realistic" alternative for the world of Legend that people could relate to. I get the impression the same thing was intended for Guillarme II ("the Great King who unified Kurland"); probably a mix of Charlemagne and Otto the Great.

I remember something about there being a vague plan to do it as a campaign book/books......but I think it got put on hold/didn't start for a number of reasons. I think Dave Morris wants to rewrite the last Bloodsword book sometime as it wasn't up to snuff in his eyes. _________________

There are a number of godlings and major demons housed or otherwise contained in the Battlepits and other places around Krarth ( theres a few expansions on them with available lore in the Wiki). I like Fata as the female honorific in place of Magus for some reason I can't really explain. While the Five houses all carry the names of their patron Magus, I can see a few of the surviving apprentices trying to forge their own way by setting up their own houses after the Fall of Spyte leading to a variety of minor houses with different names. And as we only know 3( ish) of the 5 original Magis names it could be any of them. _________________

There are some names he likes that I've seen pop up in a few places over the years. _________________
