Spent an absolutely fantastic time replenishing my soul and revitalising my spirit alongside some amazing women from across the Territory at the Thamarrurr Development Corporation’s women’s gathering held in my beautiful Larrakia country over the weekend.It was an honour to speak as part of the opening proceedings and host the panel which focussed on social entrepreneurial and economic opportunities on -country.The first of its kind, it was great to see the young women from Wadeye come in and participate in raw and enriching conversations on topics impacting women from the Top End.A big thank you to Rebecca Forrest for everything that you do, an absolute privilege to be included in the discussions alongside Aunty June Oscar, the Australian Human Rights Commissions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner.#WomenEmpowerment #WomenInLeadership #FemaleLeaders #EmpowerHer #SheLeads #WomenRising #WomenSupportingWomen #BreakTheGlassCeiling #StrongWomen #LeadLikeAWoman #WomenInBusiness #EmpowerWomen

Did you know, today is World Turtle Day 🐢The day was created as a yearly observance to help people celebrate and protect turtles and tortoises and their disappearing habitats around the world.In 2020, I had the pleasure of project managing a junior ranger cultural camp with the assistance of the deadly Kenbi Ranger group on the Cox Peninsula.One of the activities saw 30 excited young people plus parents and rangers visit Bare Sand Island courtesy of Sea Darwin to catch up with some visiting researchers and meet some turtle hatchlings.Here, they were taught about the turtle life span and how important it is to ensure we take care of the environment for our marine life.BMD Group Northern Land Council Steven Brown

A great turnout at the opening night of the 2024 Garrmalang Festival.Tonight on my beautiful Larrakia country, a wonderful cool breeze filtered through the crowds as I joined the festivals Creative Director Ben Graetz, Uncle Joey Raymond, Junior, William E Hewitt and the Larrakia dancers to kick off what will be an amazing couple of days. A big thank you to the events team for acknowledging Larrakia country and for everyone in the audience paying respects to Larrakia elder Uncle T Lee with a minutes silence honouring the lifetime of work he contributed to the preservation of culture.Darwin Entertainment Centre
